Ruby had nine children: Linda Jewell Scarberry, James Kenneth Scarberry, Brenda Sue Scarberry, Larry Keith Scarberry, Deborah Lynn Scarberry, Karen Faye Scarberry, Marsheila Gaye Scarberry, Teresa Rose Scarberry, and Jerry Michael Scarberry.

Ruby passed away at her home on August 7, 2007. She was buried at Highland Memorial Cemetary in Staffordsville, Kentucky.
